Regency Security team were on duty at the Oulton Broad, annual Charity Gala Day this Bank Holiday Monday. The record-breaking temperatures saw crowds of people to enjoy a packed day and evening of entertainment.
Lowestoft Lions have been organising this annual event for over 25 years, with the proceeds helping less fortunate people as well as good causes locally.
Lead organiser Trevor Waters said, “It was probably one of the best years we have had weather-wise and it was a great success, making all our efforts worthwhile.
The Regency Security team was involved in helping with an unfortunate incident after a fairground ride broke down. A small number of people were stuck in the seating rack and suspended five metres off the ground after an electrical failure stopped the ride. Regency Security worked with first responders and emergency services until the trapped people were brought down from the ride with the assistance of the North Lowestoft and Lowestoft Fire Crews.
Regency Security are trained to high standards when it comes to any event incidents. This includes the welfare of attendees and working with 3rd party teams, such as the emergency services.
Ryan Hender from Regency Security said, We were delighted that the incident was controlled effectively and everyone was brought down to the ground safely with everyone working together for a safe outcome. The team was delighted to be part of a superb family event which would have raised so much money for good causes. We send our congratulations to the Lowestoft Lions and I would personally like to thank my team for all their efforts throughout the day.
